San Lorenzo Collection

Located on top of a mountain surrounded by floodplains, San Lorenzo was the first and most important of the Olmec capitals. Our San Lorenzo collection focuses on the best known Olmec iconography - colossal heads. Ten of the 17 extant colossal heads hail from San Lorenzo, two of which feature in this collection.

La Venta Collection

Located on the banks of the Coatzacoalcos river delta, La Venta was the most important city in the Americas for over 500 years. This collection features a 7-foot tall altar found in La Venta. The altar is believed to have been a throne and carries important religious motifs concerning divine rulership and interactions with supernatural realms.

Young Lord Collection

Found outside of the Olmec heartland on the border of Guatemala and El Salvador, this statue stands as a symbol of the Olmec's conception of the world. The statue stands nearly 5 feet tall with surprisingly intricate engravings for a statue of its size. This collection features portions of these iconic engravings.
